| DNA testing for causal agents of infectious diseases is more specific and sensitive than other currently available methods. In contrast to other methods, DNA testing results can be obtained within a few hours. Most significantly, the presence of these organisms can be detected at an early stage of infection before serological responses appear, significantly narrowing the window period for diagnosis. |
